Carrollton, Ky. - Aug. 14, 2020 - There has been a recent change to the Virtual School option for Carroll County School District students. Students who chose the Virtual School option will now use the Edgenuity web-based curriculum instead of the K12 curriculum originally communicated with families. Edgenuity has similar features to the K12 curriculum, such as incorporating teacher videos, integrating class meetings and supplemental lessons. There are supports built in for Special Education, English Language Learners and Advanced Learners. The courses all align with state standards and integrate with MAP, which will be used for district-wide benchmark assessments this year. Carroll County High School already uses Edgenuity, so they are very familiar with the components offered for grades 6-12. We have been exploring the recently added virtual curriculum for grades K-5, called PathBlazers. We are impressed with the components of the curriculum and the kid-friendly approach to learning. It delivers direct instruction, guided practice, independent practice and just-in-time reteaching and assessment.
